Joint Audit Committee Meetings (ceased September 2015 – replaced by Joint Audit and Ethics Committee)

The Joint Audit Committee provides both the Constabulary and the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner for Lancashire independent assurances on the adequacy of internal control, financial management and reporting, risk management as well as anti-fraud and corruption arrangements. Find out more about the Committee and view past meeting agendas and discussion items.

Joint Audit and Ethics Committee

The Commissioner and Chief Constable have established a Joint Audit and Ethics Committee which is responsible for considering internal and external audit reports and providing independent assurance on the adequacy of risk management, financial controls, integrity and standards of service in Lancashire Constabulary and in the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner. Find out more and access meeting notes and agendas.

Joint Management Board

The Joint Management Board will consider and determine matters relating to strategic direction, policy issues and medium/long term planning.  It provides the opportunity for the Commissioner and the Chief Constable to take decisions, in each other’s presence, and with their relevant professional advisers in attendance. This ensures that those decisions are made by the Commissioner and the Chief Constable in a principally open forum. View Agendas, discussion items and notes.

Strategic Scrutiny Meetings

The Police and Crime Commissioner is responsible for holding the Chief Constable to account for maintaining an efficient and effective police service in Lancashire. The Commissioner will undertake this role at the Strategic Scrutiny meetings.

Strategic Scrutiny Meetings are attended by the Commissioner and the Chief Constable supported by appropriate officers dependent on the matters to be scrutinised. Full details including a list of attendees for each meeting can be found on the meeting notes.
