Lancashire Victim Services Launches Domestic Abuse Campaign
There is a way out of abusive relationships – that’s the message of Lancashire Victim Services’ campaign encouraging people who may be experiencing domestic abuse to take the step and get help.
The campaign, which launched on Monday, 20 November 2017, sees a combination of radio and bus shelter adverts as well as posters to be displayed in public places across Lancashire.
Part of the campaign is to highlight the different types of domestic abuse people may be experiencing. Controlling behaviour, psychological, physical and sexual abuse are all highlighted to encourage those affected to take the step and make that first call for support.
Anyone who contacts Lancashire Victim Services can speak to an Independent Domestic Violence Adviser (IDVA) who will work with them to find the best way forward. IDVAs are specially trained to provide non-judgemental emotional support as well as practical help with issues including personal safety, housing and benefits.
