Summer Community Fund

Launched in July 2024, the Summer Community Fund provides access to small grants of between £1k and £3k, to deliver short term diversionary activity projects in local areas during the summer holiday period.

 

Fund Criteria

  1. Applications must demonstrate how their project has a focus on preventing crime and anti-social behaviour.
  2. The maximum amount that can be applied for is £3,000.
  3. Applications from local community groups, organisations, charities and Parish and Town councils must demonstrate how they are working with the local policing team and/or the local Community Safety Partnership.
  4. Local community groups, organisations and charities must supply their Articles of Association and previous two years accounts with their application.
  5. The Commissioner will require evidence of continued maintenance of any capital assets purchased through the fund.
  6. All organisations must have appropriate policies and procedures in place including safeguarding where appropriate, health and safety and equality and diversity.
  7. All projects and schemes must be completed by Monday 2nd September 2024 and applicants must complete and return an evaluation form.

The Commissioner will be looking for applications that:

  • Aim to prevent young people from engaging in crime and anti-social behaviour
  • Deliver short term, time specific intervention projects that provide additional activity above the organisations core functions
  • Evidence strong links with the local policing team and / or local Community Safety Partnerships
  • Tackle the problems within their neighbourhoods through prevention, diversion, and intervention
  • Which are well planned, realistic and have aims which are achievable

The Commissioner will not fund:

  • Activities that have already taken place before we
    offer you a grant and are therefore retrospective.
  • Political promotion, including political party activity.
  • Organisations requesting funding towards reserves.
  • Full Time Employee Costs.
  • Projects taking place outside Lancashire.
  • The support or promotion of religious beliefs in
    a particular faith, beyond basic religious/ cultural
    awareness raising.
  • Full cost recovery- only direct costs associated with
    the delivery of the initiative can be funded.
