Riot Compensation Act (RCA)

If your property was damaged, destroyed or stolen during recent civil unrest in Lancashire you may be able to make a claim under the Riot Compensation Act 2016.

If you experienced property damage or loss you should report that crime to the police. If you have insurance, you should then contact your insurer to make a claim. You can make a claim direct to the PCC for losses not covered by insurance.

The Home Office have provided guidance for claimants for your information. This contains the claim form, explains how to make a claim and what sort of evidence you will need. The claim form is also available as a word document.

Please note:  The deadline for insurance claims to be made under the Riot Compensation Act is 19 September 2024.

To progress your claim, please email your completed RCA claim form to commissioner@lancashire-pcc.gov.uk.
